Some people thought Yoshiki killed Huck; others thought Finn’s father killed his son. Later people went to search the island of Ackerson. Huck and Jim skillfully dodged. Huck and Jim sailed on a raft to the Mississippi River. A broken ship lay in the middle of the river, with a raft beside it. The two robbers tied the other robber to poison him. Huck skilfully stole their raft from landing. The raft is approaching Cairo. Jim is going ashore here to the Northern Free State. At this moment Huck had a fierce struggle for thought. He felt that it was wrong to let a nigger go. He was sorry for Widow Daggers and Miss Waitschen. He was ready to go ashore to report. But Jim , seeing that he was about to be free, thanked Huck from the bottom of his heart. "I am a free man," he said to Huck. "I would never have been free without Huck; it's all Huck's doing. I will never forget your advantages, Huck. You are my best friend, and a unique friend of mine. " This hearty feeling softened Huck. Determined not to report, he deceived two white men who had come to seize runaway slaves. But they missed the opportunity, Cairo is over, Jim had no time to get ashore. A large ship on the opposite side of the water sank their raft again. Both Huck and Jim fell into the river. Huck could not easily swim ashore. He was separated from Jim .
