02-28-13 CHINESE NEW YEAR

太久沒有更新小子的文章了。 
來個(gè)最近寫的過節(jié)文章吧。 
Chinese New Year’s Day 
Yesterday was Chinese New Year’s Day. When my family was about to eat lunch, we heard a Ding-Dong at the front door. I rushed to the door, curiously peeked out the window and saw my friend, Grace. She handed me a big bowl of dumplings and said with a beaming smile “Happy New Year!” I also said “Happy New Year!” After Grace left, I slowly nibbled one of the dumplings. The taste was like chewing green caterpillars. That was awful! Serena kept on saying,” Yummy, yummy.” She was eating so fast as if she had a hundred mouths. I felt that I was the only one in the whole universe who doesn’t enjoy the dumplings. It was strange that my sister likes it so much. So I drank fish soup instead.  
After lunch, we got dressed for a Spring Festival party. When we arrived, I played with the kids that were already there. We played Xbox, Freeze Tag, 1 2 3 Wooden Man, Cow Tag, Turtle Tag and volleyball. Then dad called me for a yummy dinner. There were tables and tables of delicious food. I was lead to the table of food by a strong, rich, and delicious smell. As soon as I got to the table, my eyes were as big as grapes. I couldn’t believe my eyes! There were 20 different kinds of dishes, each with a beautiful and formal bow. There were even about half of them that I didn’t even know! One dish attracted my eyes as if I was being pulled forward by a strong force. That was flat in a half circle-shape, and looked delicious. I thought it was small pieces of broken Tortillas. I asked my mom curiously what the small broken Tortillas. She said, “It was Egg dumplings.” I scooped 3 egg dumplings into my paper plate. I tried one and my tummy roared for more egg dumplings so I ate another one. When my plate was filled with piles and piles of yummy food, I sat down on a soft couch next to the TV and eagerly started gobbling down everything in my plate, even the crumbs. At last, my tummy was all stuffed. If I ate one more bite, I would have exploded.  
When I rested for about 10 minutes, I played hide and seek and volleyball. I sometimes hit the ball far and sometimes the ball close. So my opponent doesn’t know either to stand in the front or back. When we were playing hide and seek, I went to the bathroom. It was also my hiding place. It took a long time before I was found. When we were about to leave, dad handed Serena and me a red envelope. Do you know what was in the red envelope? It was a five-dollar bill for lucky money. After that, we went home for a good night sleep.
