大猩猩是安東尼很多書籍的主角，細(xì)膩的心理活動(dòng)描寫則是其主要的內(nèi)容。這本書用了典型的蒙太奇手法，描述了相同時(shí)間不同空間的人們，交匯到同一時(shí)空的平常事件。小孩要理解這種手法，需要大人的幫助。書中有很多細(xì)節(jié)，也能幫助孩子對(duì)故事的理解。
特別佩服安東尼，看似平淡的日常散步，卻表達(dá)出豐富的內(nèi)涵：刻薄的中產(chǎn)、懦弱的兒子；失業(yè)的平民、樂觀的女兒……
