學習寫作半年能夠獨立完成Research Report——推薦寫作四步法

     哥哥本周寫作課作業(yè)的終稿因為太長放在日志最后，有興趣的可以先拉到最底下閱讀。

      雖然文章還存在一些表達和語法錯誤，但能夠在學習寫作半年后獨立完成這樣的作文，哥哥的進步是非常大的。要知道二年級時，他可是連3、4句話都憋不出來，還滿是語法錯誤。  
        之所以有這么大的飛躍，是因為這半年來他每周寫作一篇短文，每篇文章的寫作過程都遵循了“四步法”。

        這四步分別是：

Prewriting

Writing

Revising

Editing

        上面這篇report哥哥分了四天完成，每天完成上述的一個步驟，總的用時大約在2.5小時左右。大家可以猜猜哪一步通常用時最久。

        接下來就以哥哥的report為例，說說具體怎么操作這四步。

#1 Prewriting

    確定寫作的主題，圍繞主題大致將寫作框架確定下來，列出簡要的提綱

    耗時：45分鐘

       一開始哥哥的想寫Mercury，但space對他來說并非是一個很熟悉的選題，實際上他只是因為書上的例文才所以依樣畫葫蘆挑了這個，想省力罷了。于是我讓他再考慮下有沒有其他想寫的主題。他說前兩天在A3000讀過一篇關(guān)于大白鯊的文章，覺得非常有意思，還收藏了。我便鼓勵他嘗試寫寫大白鯊，他欣然接受了。

        我給哥哥找了兩本科普書作參考。他自己又想到Reading Explorer和看過的BBC記錄片里也有相關(guān)內(nèi)容。于是找資料部分3分鐘搞定。

        在閱讀完這些資料后，他自己列了一稿提綱，內(nèi)容包括外表、棲息地、捕食方式和最重要的大白鯊到底吃不吃人。在看完哥哥的提綱之后，我就知道這篇文章準不會跑偏。

       上面這份Question Chart作為文章的主體部分，再構(gòu)思一個Interesting Beginning和一個Strong Ending就是一個完整的框架了。

        不管寫作什么類型的文章，在入門階段最基礎的形式都是萬變不離其宗的三部曲：

Middle 

Ending

#2 Writing

根據(jù)提綱完成初稿

耗時：30分鐘

        如果第一步的prewriting完成度高，這一步其實非常輕松。不用太在意拼寫、語法等，關(guān)鍵是將所思所想流暢地表達出來。注意初稿兩行之間要留有空隙，方便后續(xù)修訂，也可以直接在電腦上打字。

#3 Revising

調(diào)整文章的組織結(jié)構(gòu)和voice、前后句及上下文的銜接、句子的流暢度，

并使用更高級的詞匯

耗時：70分鐘

        看了這一步的內(nèi)容，我想你已經(jīng)猜到了，這是整個寫作過程中最費精力的一步。

        我建議在文章修訂時讓孩子把文章一句句地大聲朗讀出來，這能夠更好地幫助他們發(fā)現(xiàn)其中的問題。

調(diào)整結(jié)構(gòu)、行文

        行文結(jié)構(gòu)關(guān)鍵是要把一件事情說清楚，讓讀者看明白。

        以這篇report為例，初稿的寫作順序是棲息地——長度重量速度——外形——捕食方式——危險性。大白鯊那令人望而生畏的尖牙是在捕食方式中間順帶提到的。這么寫似乎也沒有什么問題，但段落與段落之間并沒有太大的聯(lián)系，似乎是割裂的事實拼裝黏貼了起來。

        修訂時我注意到他介紹了鯊魚的速度，便提示他大白鯊捕食時的最高速度好像更快，哥哥立刻明白了我的用意，如果加上這點，可以自然地引出捕食方式。在修改段落順序的同時調(diào)整句子的位置以及上下文的銜接。修改之后文章的順序變?yōu)闂⒌亍庑巍L度重量速度——牙齒和捕食方式——危險性，由速度過渡到捕食，再加上之前初稿中已經(jīng)寫的因為捕食聯(lián)想到人類自身的安全，這樣整篇文章邏輯更為縝密，讀起來也更流暢了。

詞匯的選擇

        關(guān)于使用更高級的詞匯，實際上就是使用同義詞，或者同樣意思的不同表達方式，但是更為書面化、專業(yè)化。比如這篇report是關(guān)于大白鯊的，如果從頭到尾一直用Great White這個詞，重復度太高，文章讀起來相當乏味。所以在提到大白鯊時，哥哥還使用了這兩個詞：fierce sea predator，ultimate killer，即調(diào)節(jié)了文章的可讀性，更突出了大白鯊的特性。

        描寫大白鯊的捕食過程時，哥哥在初稿里直接用了4個prey，在修訂的時候把后三個分別改為：victim，body，meal。

        還有些用的比較好的一些表達有：pop out，masters of disguise，fade into，unseen from below，jagged，blade like等等。另外還有這句：while some of theories have been proven wrong, more theories have been popping out，感覺也有那么點意思了。

        word choice和平時大量的閱讀是密不可分的，讀的多了，在輸出時自然而然地就會用上。

#4 Editing

修改拼寫及語法錯誤

耗時：5分鐘

        最后再逐句朗讀一遍文章，修正拼寫錯誤和語法錯誤就大功告成啦。

           Great White Sharks

    The great whites have been thought a dangerous kind of animal in mankind’s history. It is said they will swallow humans on sight. But now people have discovered more about great white sharks, while some of theories have been proven wrong, more theories have been popping out. So let’s learn some real facts about this fierce sea predator!

    Great white sharks live around the world. But they prefer warm oceans like the Caribbean. They hatch from eggs called mermaid bags. 

    Great whites are masters of disguise. They have black skin on top and white skin on bottom. When sees below, its white skin is like a part of the surface of ocean, while sees above it melts into the ocean depth below. But it’s really tricky to find them from the side. The black skin looks gray under the rays of sunlight and because lack of sunlight the white skin fade into gray. So the shark melts into background of the far away sea. 

    Great white sharks can be as long as 6.1 meters and weigh a tonne. Despite their great length, they can normally swim up to 30 kilometers per hour. When chasing preys their top speed can reach over 40 kilometers per hour. 

     A great white has 300 sharp teeth and each tooth has saw-like edges. When attacking ,they aim at their prey unseen from below. Then, they catch the victim and bite and bite till it’s dead. Last, they cut the body with their blade like teeth with jagged spikes . Finally, the sharks swallow the meal piece by piece.

     After you read about how they hunt, you might be worried that you would be done with the same treatment. But don’t be worried! A new study has found that great whites don’t kill as many people as hippos, tigers, or lions each year. Dispite of these data,we still have to look out for them while swimming in the sea. Because latest studies have shown that great whites’ way of attacking people is “bite and swim”. Scientists believe great whites are curious creatures, they are just trying to find out what we are by biting us. But some people still have doubts, they think the great whites are the most dangerous creatures on earth.

     Scientists are doing further research to find more facts about this ultimate killer. They hope that these facts will help us learn more about them in the future.
