今天的這一篇名叫《The Carnival》，故事開始~

MM: Today we will read an interesting story called "The Carnival", kids, have you ever been to a carnival? 今天我們來讀一個很好玩的故事，名字叫《狂歡節(jié)》。你們有去過狂歡節(jié)嗎？

What is a carnival? Is it a day when different kinds of cars will be sold? 什么是狂歡節(jié)呢？難道各種車子會在那天賣出嗎？

No no no, a carnival is a public festival during which people play music, wear special clothes and dance in the street. 并不是，哈哈哈，狂歡節(jié)的時候呢，人們會穿上特別的衣服，上街演奏樂器啊，或者跳舞。

What famous Chinese festival do you know? 那你知道中國有什么有名的節(jié)日嗎？

Spring Festival, Mid-autumn festival as well as Qingming Festival. 有春節(jié)，中秋節(jié)，還有清明節(jié)。

Very good. Look at the front cover, we can see that the children are wearing special clothes today, so they will all take part in this carnival. 很好呀。我們來看封面，孩子們都穿著特別的衣服呢，看來他們都要去參加狂歡節(jié)啊。

原文：The mums and dads were busy. 媽媽和爸爸們都在忙。

What are they busy doing? Playing music or dancing? 他們在忙著做什么呢？演奏樂器？跳舞？

No, they are busy painting something. 沒有沒有，忙著給什么東西涂色呢。

What are they painting? It looks like a little house. 他們在涂什么呢？看起來像是個房子呢。

No, it looks more like a super-big shoe with a window. 其實更像是一個有窗戶的大鞋。

Dad is painting the toe brown and Mum is painting the rest yellow. 爸爸把鞋頭涂成棕色，媽媽把剩下的部分涂成黃色。

Why do they make such a big shoe? What is it for? 為什么他們要做一個這么大的鞋子呢？用來做什么呢？
